Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information: your name and email address, and your sign-in method (email and password, or Google). If you use “Continue with Google”, we receive your name and email address from Google. We never see your Google password.
• Profile information you choose to add: phone number, WhatsApp number and default city.
• Ad content: the title, description, price, category, location, photos and contact numbers you put in your ads, and your saved ads.
• Technical and safety data: to prevent spam and abuse we process your IP address. For rate limiting we store only a hashed (scrambled) form of it, together with counters. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs.
• Reports: when you report an ad, we store the report and a hashed identifier of the reporter.

How we use it

• To run your account and publish, show and manage your ads.
• To let interested buyers contact you. Your phone or WhatsApp number on an ad is shown to a visitor only when they ask to see it.
• To keep PakBazar safe: detecting spam, scams and misuse, and enforcing our Terms.
• To maintain and improve the service, and to send essential account emails such as email confirmation and password reset.

We do not sell your personal information.

What is public

Your ad content, your display name and the month you joined are visible to anyone. Do not put information in an ad that you do not want to be public. Ad pages can be indexed by search engines.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run PakBazar: a hosting provider for the website, and a database, authentication and file storage provider for accounts, ads and photos. If you choose Google sign-in, Google processes that login under its own privacy policy. These providers process data on our behalf and may store it in data centres outside Pakistan.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect the service. If we show advertising in the future, advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage ad personalisation in your Google Ads Settings, and you can control cookies in your browser.

Your choices

• You can edit or delete any of your ads at any time from My ads.
• You can edit your profile, or permanently delete your account and all your ads, from Profile.
• You can ask us about your data through the contact page.

Retention

Ads expire automatically after a period of time. Deleted ads and accounts are removed from our database. Some data may remain in backups or logs for a limited time.

Children

PakBazar is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections and access controls. No online service can be perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
